Why repaint a metal roof?
Repainting is worthwhile when the metal roof is still structurally sound but its finish has faded, worn away or started to flake. Timely maintenance painting helps protect the metal from moisture, sunlight and seasonal weather, and can postpone a much more expensive roof replacement.
A new paint system also improves the roof's appearance and restores its protective finish. If painting is no longer the right option, we'll say so and recommend a more suitable repair.
How we repaint a metal roof

Preparation and inspection
The roof’s condition is inspected as a whole. We review fastenings, penetrations and seals, and also check the roof space and underlay to identify possible hidden damage.

Thorough cleaning
The roof is cleaned carefully with high-pressure washing. A clean and properly prepared surface is essential for strong adhesion and a long maintenance interval.

Rust removal and priming
We remove loose rust and apply a compatible anti-corrosion primer. This helps protect the treated areas and gives the finish coat a sound surface to bond to.

Coating
We normally spray-apply two finish coats using a professional metal roof paint system. The aim is an even, protective finish across the whole roof.

Final inspection and handover
Once the work is finished, we check everything and go through the result with you.

Colour tone and finishing
When we repaint the roof, you can also choose a new colour that suits the building. We finish the details carefully for a clean, consistent result.

Local repairs are completed before coating
Local holes and leak risks can sometimes be repaired with Kemperol waterproofing and reinforcement fabric before coating. The area is cleaned carefully and built up as a seamless, flexible and watertight repair. This does not replace renewing extensively damaged sheet metal, but it can be a practical part of a local repair.
